Bad Neighbor or Bad Mom?

Ok, so it is Sunday. Minding my own business. Cleaning the grill.

Neighbors behind us have a jump castle up for an earlier birthday party. See where this is going yet? Well the older kids were invited to come over and jump when all guests left. So I am hearing them have a blast...then...castle starts to tip and it is rolling over to the side. (Camera is in the house and not put together). Castle is now on the side and the kids are screaming..."help us, somebody help us, help us..." Next thing I see are parents fleeing their homes and running to the backyard. Needless to say the castle was immediately deflated and the fun ended.

My immediate thinking was what is up with these kids? I am NOT running through the poisen ivy and jumping fences to deal with these kids. Bad on the parents for putting up the the castle on a sloping backyard? Bad on the kids for being kids? Bad on me not to act and react?

Wish I had the pictures...but here are a couple of Annie and Aidan from yesterday!

Enter Website hell...

After thinking long and hard, for a day, and then putting the thought of "the website" issue off for a few weeks, Saturday it came time to build one. I wasn't going to shell out the big bucks to have someone else do this for me. You all know that I have ZERO experience in this. Heck, I can't even get my Outlook to work the way it should! Anyhow I met another photographer in Oregon, from my photography group, who had a great website. So, I sent her an email and she pointed me in the right direction. Without her help the site you all see, would not be there!

There is where it all started...Saturday afternoon I started to build it with a few pictures and worked on the format. Then I got brave and used my FTP server and uploaded to my web hosting (see I am not even sure if these are the correct terms...derrr). And IT WORKED...holy shit, it worked! I was amazed, it wasn't supposed to be that easy. So I worked on it until the following morning until 4:30AM! I was great! So I quickly transferred to my web hosting via FTP server and I got to view it online. Wow, couldn't believe I did it! So I shut down and took my vampire self to bed.

When I got up a couple hours later my site was GONE!!! I started messing with it and knew that my bad situation was just going further down the crapper. After a few hours of this I realized to had to get Annie to cheer tryouts...NOW. When I got back I called my web hosting people (as I was unable to communicate via IM). The girl helped me out and walked me through it all. I was able to determine what I did wrong (ya, won't be doing that again).

So yesterday I spent time rebuilding. I saved my files so it went fairly easy. I still have images to add and some text to insert. But at least it is coming together and there is some eye candy for you all to look out and tune to hear! So for the next few days there will be some small additions, changes and tweaking.

I managed to get a few shots in of Annie and Aidan enjoying some bubbles yesterday...

Spring is in the air

I have decided to take today to stay home. Which means don't wash the face or get dressed. This way I won't be tempted to leave and goof around! I am, or should I have have been working on laundry all day. I think I am on load 5! It is time to join a nudist colony! I am also getting things ready for ICON's end of season dinner banquet/awards. Not to mention I am building my own website...STOP LAUGHING! I got some great guidance...I think I can, I think I can...

Aidan and I got out yesterday and took some pictures. I can't wait to get him his own "My First Camera". We went to the square and Yahoola Creek Park, nice big park, beautiful. I found some great places to take pictures...oh wait, isn't that what I have a studio for?

Here are a couple from yesterday...

Whose kid is that and just what is he laughing at???

Open those doors!!!

Well here it is. My business license!!! I finally got it today. I was waiting...waiting...waiting for the inspector to inspect the studio.

I am working with a gal now from the Holly Theatre in Dahlonega. They are having a 9th Annual Gala charity event. I was approached by a member to take pictures of the guests (black tie), candids and set-up. I will be donating a portion of my sales back to the theatre.

Lookie-look!!!!

Vintage Chevrolet Club National Meet

Annie, Aidan and I headed to my studio in Dahlonega last Friday.

When we approached the square it seemed quite busy. We got there and noticed that the Vintage Chevrolet Club National Meet was happening. I took the opportunity to snap off a few shots of some of the cars and a few of Annie also (Aidan wasn't having any photos taken that day).

I submitted 8 photos to The Dahlonega Nugget. They are posted on their website (see link below). Check them out...

Start of the blog...

Well I started this figuring it may be a great way to stay in touch with everyone rather than mass emails and deciding who to and not to send to a particular email to and what address am I sending from. I will also post my pictures here.

My mode of communication has become so cluttered. This is me simplifying.
